Butler & Associates is a company of personal property specialists appraising antiques, decorative
arts and residential contents. We offer estate services including consultations, estate planning,
personal property sales tailored to individual needs and downsizing services.
We have been assisting clients with certified appraisals and estate services since 1985 and have
offices in Greensboro and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We appraise single items and entire estates
of personal property including antiques, decorative arts, silver and household furnishings. Our
appraisals are prepared in accordance with the Uniform Standard of Professional Appraisal Practice
(USPAP) standards and are made for insurance coverage, estate purposes, charitable donations and
equitable distribution.
In 2010: The NC Museum of History has purchased two pieces of Thomas Day furniture from our early spring sale. These pieces are currently on display at the Thomas Day Exhibit (Behind the Veneer: Thomas Day, Master Cabinetmaker), at the NC Museum of History.
